THE CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF THE WARM SPRINGS RESERVATION

Before Europeans explored the Pacific Northwest, the Native American tribes of Oregon had developed long-lasting, complex societies. Three tribes -- the Wasco, the Walla Walla (later called the Warm Springs) and the Paiute -- lived in central Oregon. These three different tribes, speaking three different languages, would one day come together to create the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.
