Additional Resourcesgeodata.gov, also known as the Geospatial One-Stop (GOS)
geodata.gov is a geographic information system (GIS) portal that serves as a public gateway for improving access to geospatial information and data under the Geospatial One-Stop E-Government initiative. Geospatial One-Stop is one of 24 E-Government initiatives sponsored by the Federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to enhance government efficiency and to improve citizen services.
ER Mapper and Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging
Prior to purchase by Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging, ER Mapper had been pioneering advances in the creation, storage and distribution of Geospatial imagery since its inception in 1989. The company’s patented image compression format ECW has become a de-facto world-wide industry standard. ER Mapper--now part of the Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging--developed the software application to serve the Oregon 2005 half-meter orthoimagery via the Oregon Imagery Explorer.
Institute for Natural Resources
The Institute for Natural Resources (INR) is a cooperative enterprise that acts as a catalyst by bringing together decision makers and researchers and developing partnerships with state, federal, tribal and local decision makers and the talented faculty of Oregon’s higher education institutions. Created by the Oregon Legislature with the Oregon Sustainability Act of 2001, the Institute works to provide Oregon leaders with ready access to current, science-based information and methods for better understanding our resource management challenges and developing solutions.
Oregon Explorer
The Oregon Explorer is envisioned to use the power of today’s cutting edge information technology to create a state-of-the-art web-accessible natural resources digital library by way of accessing and integrating data from state and federal agencies, local governments, university scientists and citizens to support informed decisions and actions by people concerned with Oregon’s natural resources and environment. The Oregon Explorer program is a joint effort between the Institute for Natural Resources and OSU Libraries.
Oregon Geospatial Enterprise Office
Under the direction of the Statewide GIS Coordinator, GEO helps to coordinate GIS activities in the state, facilitates communication about GIS issues, and maintains the Web site that hosts statewide geospatial data for the state of Oregon - the Oregon Geospatial Data Clearinghouse (OGDC).
Oregon Orthoimagery Framework Group
The Oregon Orthoimagery Framework Group focuses on the orthoimagery framework theme for Oregon by developing standards and plans for data development and stewardship.
OSU Libraries
The University Library system for Oregon State University.
The National Map
The National Map is a collaborative effort among the USGS and other Federal, State, and local partners to improve and deliver topographic information for the Nation. The geographic information available from The National Map includes orthoimagery (aerial photographs), elevation, geographic names, hydrography, boundaries, transportation, structures, and land cover.
USDA National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP)
The National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) acquires imagery during the agricultural growing seasons in the continental U.S. A primary goal of the NAIP program is to enable availability of digital ortho photography within a year of acquisition.
