Forest collaborative groups build agreement by engaging diverse stakeholders in fostering natural resource management and economic development.

Selected resources on how to find existing collaborative groups, as well as how to organize and support a new collaborative process or group.
The Federal Forest Dashboard is a project of the Federal Forest Working Group, and looks at 6 management and restoration indicators for six National Forests in eastern Oregon.
More than 25 community-based forest collaborative groups in Oregon have been mapped by the UO Ecosystem Workforce Program. For an interactive version of the map, use the Oregon Explorer Forest Collaboratives Map Viewer tool (or click on image).

About This Topic

Development of the Forest Collaboratives site resulted from a collaboration among:

OSU Libraries and Press: OSU Libraries and Press engages with the OSU community and the people of Oregon in their pursuit of knowledge. The OSULP partnership with the Institute for Natural Resources supports delivery of information and services related to the protection and management of Oregon's vitally important natural resources through the Oregon Explorer natural resources digital library.

Institute for Natural Resources: The Institute for Natural Resources provides Oregonians with ready access to current, relevant science-based information, methods, and tools for better understanding natural resource management challenges and developing solutions. INR co-manages the Oregon Explorer with OSULP.

Oregon Department of Forestry: The mission of the Oregon Department of Forestry is to, "serve the people of Oregon by protecting, managing, and promoting stewardship of Oregon's forests to enhance environmental, economic, and community sustainability."

Oregon Solutions: The mission of Oregon Solutions is to develop sustainable solutions to community-based problems that support economic, environmental, and community objectives and are built through the collaborative efforts of businesses, government, and non-profit organizations.

Funding for Phase 1 development of the Forest Collaboratives site and map viewer was provided by the Oregon Department of Forestry. In-kind support provided by OSU Libraries and Press, the Institute for Natural Resources and Oregon Solutions.
