Conservation Organizations and Partners Operating Within Benton County

  1. AFRANA facilitates community-supported projects to enhance recreation and connect people to their natural and cultural heritage.
  2. Audubon Society of Corvallis supports the conservation of natural habitats for wildlife and people.
  3. Benton County Natural Areas and Parks conserves, maintains, and restores habitats, recreation, and history at parks and natural areas throughout the county.
  4. Benton Soil and Water Conservation District works to promote clean water and healthy soils, improved farms and forests, and restored wildlife habitat.
  5. Calapooia Watershed Council supports habitat restoration and healthy watersheds in the Calapooia watershed.
  6. Chintimini Wildlife Center provides care for injured and orphaned wildlife until they can be returned to their natural habitat.
  7. Corvallis Environmental Center supports programming that makes Corvallis a healthier and more sustainable place to live. 
  8. Corvallis Parks and Recreation cares for more than 2000 acres of parks, playgrounds, playing fields, trails, open spaces and beautification areas.
  9. Corvallis Sustainability Coalition is a network of organizations within Corvallis working to create a sustainable community
  10. Corvallis Environmental Center  provides programming that makes Corvallis a healthier and more sustainable place to live.
  11. Friends of Corvallis Parks & Recreation works to ensure that parks and recreation programs are well funded and available for all people close to where they live and work.
  12. Friends of the Willamette Valley National Wildlife Refuge Complex is a volunteer-run organization that works to protect the refuges’ natural resources.
  13. Greenbelt Land Trust protects critical habitats, rivers, trails and working lands throughout the mid-Willamette Valley.
  14. Institute for Applied Ecology conserves native species and habitats through restoration, research, and education throughout the Pacific Northwest.
  15. Luckiamute Watershed Council is a volunteer group of neighbors working together to improve local water quality and habitat conditions in their watershed.
  16. Marys River Watershed Council works to inspire and support voluntary stewardship of Marys River and nearby stream, enhance habitat, and protect water quality.
  17. Native Plant Society of Oregon, Corvallis Chapter  works for native plant and habitat conservation and education in Benton County, Lincoln County and Linn County.
  18. Natural Resource Conservation Service in Benton County works collaboratively with conservation organizations and landowners to deliver Farm Bill Programs and conserve habitats.
  19. Oregon State University College of Forestry McDonald and Dunn Forests are used for university instruction and research and provide many opportunities for community recreation.
  20. Oregon State University Extension – Benton County delivers research-based information to manage natural resources wisely and promote environmental health.
  21. Sierra Club Oregon Chapter, Marys Peak Group operates from Corvallis, Oregon and serves the region of Benton, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, and Polk counties to protect the state’s public lands.
  22. Starker Forests grows and manages forests and provide many opportunities for community recreation
  23. Willamette Partnership helps cities and organizations change how they build infrastructure, protect habitat and water sources, and manage farms and forests.
