Oregon Conservation Strategy monitoring priorities
The Oregon Conservation Strategy identifies priorities for monitoring. A suite of
priority species for monitoring is assigned to each priority habitat type within
each ecoregion. Monitoring Strategy species is designed to complement ongoing large-scale
vegetation monitoring and ongoing efforts to monitor threatened/endangered species.
ODFW works with partner organizations to collect information on the species identified
in the monitoring portfolio.
Mammals identified as monitoring priorities include red tree vole, American beaver, Western gray squirrel, Washington ground squirrel and several batslong-legged myotis, California myotis, fringed bat, hoary bat, and pallid bat.
