Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services Building Codes Division

The Building Codes Division administers Oregon's Statewide Building Code, which provides uniform standards that ensure newly constructed residential and commercial buildings are safe for citizens to occupy. The state legislature established a "uniform" building code in 1973; the division celebrated the 40th Anniversary of that statewide code in 2013. The division also administers and regulates building laws and rules, and licenses qualified businesses and individuals working in these trades: electrical, plumbing, boiler and pressure vessel, and elevator.
