What Can You Do About Invasive Wildlife?

If you are concerned about invasive wildlife, join Oregon's statewide campaign against invasive species. The "Stop the Invasion" campaign launched on April 22, 2008 at 8:00 pm with the premiere of the "The Silent Invasion" documentary on OPB. The introductory page provides extensive links and information on invasive species in Oregon including a video archive of stories.

There are many actions you can take as a landowner or citizen. Visit the Oregon Invasive Species Hotline website to report and upload photos of suspected invasives and interact with invasive species experts.

SOLVE offers volunteers a number of workshops and active learning experiences, such as invasive weed removal and planting native vegetation. The organization has programs available for adults and children.

You can become informed about the Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) which is the primary activity of the Weed Control Program. Weeds are listed and targeted for early detection and rapid response activities.

The state has created an Invasive Species Council to develop a statewide strategy to control species already here and keep unwanted invaders out.
