The Oregon Wildfire Risk Explorer tool is designed to identify the wildland-urban interface and wildfire hazard at the property ownership level. The Oregon CWPP Planning Tool provides a comprehensive view of wildfire risk within the State of Oregon, indicates local fire history, and offers additional resources.

Development of the site formerly known as the "Wildfire Risk Explorer" resulted from a collaboration among:

OSU Libraries and Press: OSU Libraries and Press engages with the OSU community and the people of Oregon in their pursuit of knowledge. The OSULP partnership with the Institute for Natural Resources supports delivery of information and services related to the protection and management of Oregon's vitally important natural resources through the Oregon Explorer natural resources digital library.

Institute for Natural Resources: The Institute for Natural Resources provides Oregonians with ready access to current, relevant science-based information, methods, and tools for better understanding natural resource management challenges and developing solutions. INR co-manages the Oregon Explorer with OSULP.

Oregon Department of Forestry: The mission of the Oregon Department of Forestry is to, "serve the people of Oregon by protecting, managing, and promoting stewardship of Oregon's forests to enhance environmental, economic, and community sustainability."

Funding for Phase 1 development of the Wildfire Risk Explorer was provided by the Oregon Department of Forestry. Phase 1 was completed in 2006. Funding for Phase 2 development of the redesigned Oregon Explorer Wildfire Risk site and associated tools was provided by grants from the Oregon Department of Forestry and the USDA Forest Service. Phase 2 was completed in 2019. Phase 3 was funded by the State of Oregon and was completed in 2022.
